How to Buy Fresh Meat | How To Shop For Beef, Chicken, Pork, At The Grocery Store #s354 Short
When you buy beef, chicken, pork, and turkey. There are a lot of options, but conventional meat comes from factory farms and eats a diet of GMO corn and soy, this is not what you want to buy. FOr beef, grass-fed is by far the best choice. For chicken, always buy organic, or if you can go to a local co-op try to look for pasture-raised. Pork is the toughest to buy, almost all of it is factory-farmed, there is no organic or pasture-raised pork. For ground turkey, look for organic and stay away from white meat, it's too lean. Since fresh meat is expensive, making the wrong choice can be a huge waste of money. In fact, choosing the right cut at the grocery store can sometimes be the most difficult part of cooking meat. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find a cut that's full of flavor and has the right balance of fat and protein to make it perfectly tender and juicy. Yet surprisingly, some of the most popular options fall short when it comes to texture and taste.
